WURST, what could be better?
Located in the heart of Mission, our two-storied gathering place is part restaurant and part Bavarian-inspired beer hall. Opening May 2011 for lunch, dinner and weekend brunch in the restaurant and as many hours as legally permitted for beer drinking in the beer hall.
WURST Restaurant:
As you cross over the entryway bridge you’ll catch a glimpse of the action in the beer hall below and be welcomed into an open room warmed up by loads of natural light, reclaimed wood and two large trees.
Although you’ll find tributes to Bavarian food on our menu, we think you’ll find we’re far from traditional. Our chefs have put their own twist on European brasserie fare featuring charcuterie, fresh fish, Alberta bone-in tenderloin, rotisserie half-chicken and a raw seafood bar brimming with oysters, Dungeness crab, Atlantic lobster and scallops. Much like restaurants throughout Bavaria, our culinary team uses fresh ingredients from local producers whenever possible and absolutely everything, right down to the condiments, are made and prepared in-house.
WURST Biergarten:
When the weather’s nice and for a change of scenery, park yourself outside for some people watching in the WURST Biergarten…a pleasantly enjoyable way to waste away an afternoon!
WURST Beer Hall:
Here you’ll find true Bavarian hospitality! Our taps are always flowing, the grill is always fired and our staff are always happy to see you. Wide open communal seating is anchored on one end of the room by our signature stein locker wall and on the other, by our wide open kitchen. Please don’t be upset if you get a glare or two from our chefs who are preparing house-made sausages, brats, schnitzel and other casual favourites…they’re just jealous they’re not drinking beer with you!
While we traditionally serve our European beer offerings in half-litre steins, if you’re feeling especially festive you can opt to supersize for a one-litre stein. And if we really like you, we might just give you the boot – a two-litre bootful of deliciousness that will give you bragging rights for years to come!
We’ve taken all the things we love about Bavaria and have adapted them to 4th Street Calgary and can’t wait to welcome you in May!
